Your Comprehensive Guide to Stain Removal

Post By Admin

Before treating a stain, it is important to know what type of stains you are dealing with. It is also essential to choose the most appropriate pre-treatment detergent and washing methods based on your stain. While dealing with oily stains, you can use dish soap to pre-treat the spots, but for stains like blood, you have to pre-treat with a liquid or diluted powdered detergent and a clean toothbrush.  Follow along with our guide and learn how to remove stains from garments most effectively and understand some of the most common types of stains.

What are the different types of stains?

  • Soil, clay, or dirt stains
  • Butter or oily stains
  • Blood or Grass stains
  • Coffee and tea stains

How do you get rid of these different types of stains?

Different stains require different treatments. Now that you are aware of what type of stain you are dealing with, the good news is that most stain removal procedures are alike, except for pre-treating. No matter the cause of the stain, here are a few tips to get rid of the stains from your favorite clothes:

Step 1. Get rid of the excess stain

With a paper towel, a brush, or a fork, get rid of as much of the stain from the garment as possible. This is necessary for stains that have dried up.

Step 2. Pre-treat the stains

It’s important to know the type of stain you are dealing with, as each stain requires a different pre-treatment method:

  • Enzymatic stains like blood: Pour a solution of Zohra Nirmal Udyog's Give Lite Washing Powder or Chamakdar Detergent Powder and water directly onto the stain.
  • Greasy or oily stains: Pre-soak in a soaking solution of Zohra Nirmal Udyog's Give Lite Washing Powder or Chamakdar Detergent Powder and warm water.
  • Body-soil stains: Rinse the clothes affected by body-soil stains under cold water.
  • Bleachable stains: Pre-soak and wash with Zohra Nirmal Udyog's Give Lite Washing Powder or Chamakdar Detergent Powder.
  • Clay or dirt stains: Pre-soak in a solution of cold water and Zohra Nirmal Udyog's Give Lite Washing Powder or Chamakdar Detergent Powder.

Step 3: Add detergent

Measure the correct amount of Zohra Nirmal Udyog's Give Lite Washing Powder or Chamakdar Detergent Powder according to the care label on your garment and your load size.

Step4: Wash your garments

Choose the most appropriate wash cycle settings and water temperature according to the instructions given by the garment's care label.

Step 5: Check the clothes before drying

Don't put the clothes directly into the drier until the stain is removed completely. Drying may set the stain.
